Bridge

Places

Transitions and connections — the bridge between two worlds or life phases.

Personal associations to explore

Bridges in dreams symbolise transitions: from one life phase to the next, from one decision to another, from the past into the future. They connect two banks — two states between which you find yourself.

Walking safely across a bridge represents trust in one's own transition and the willingness to step into the new. A swaying or collapsing bridge shows uncertainty about an upcoming transition or fear of change.

Passing under the bridge or swimming beneath it carries a different meaning: it can indicate circumventing decisions or symbolise the journey through the unconscious (the water below).

For journaling, note the scene, your emotion, and what happened just before and after it. If this image recurs in your own dreams, you may choose it as a personal dream sign and then do a reality check; recurrence is your observation, not a fixed meaning.
