Mirror
Personal associations to explore
The mirror in a dream is a direct symbol of self-perception and identity. What you see — or do not see — in the dream mirror is particularly significant.
Not recognising yourself in the mirror, or having no reflection at all (like a vampire), can point to an identity crisis or the feeling of having lost yourself. A distorting mirror image represents a distorted self-image — too negative or too positive.
For lucid dreaming the mirror is particularly interesting: many lucid dreamers use looking into the dream mirror as a reality test. In a lucid dream the reflection can differ from real appearance — a fascinating tool for self-exploration.
For journaling, note the scene, your emotion, and what happened just before and after it. If this image recurs in your own dreams, you may choose it as a personal dream sign and then do a reality check; recurrence is your observation, not a fixed meaning.
